Sparky's Haircut

So Sparky had an ear that was absolutely one big matted mess - first time ever so the groomer had to trim his ears right down to nothing. Oh he does not look like our little dog. Guess the hair will grow back.

Birthday Dog

Sparky celebrated his birthday on August 4th. He is now 4 years old and some days acts like he is way older. Mostly likes to sleep a lot although he just was at the groomers and seems to have a bit more energy now. Maybe he was just too hot with the extra hair. This picture was taken in Jenn and Tom's minivan. Jenn and myself were in the back seat and I guess he thought the cup holders were just right for his feet when he turned around to look at us..

Dog in the Tub II

Okay, some of you remember my story of our dog, Sparky being in the tub one day when we got home. Well, again today, same thing. We have no idea again what he was doing in the tub or why he was in the tub. I may have an idea - both times I had my slow cooker going and sometimes it starts to make noise with the lid rattling. I wonder if it scares him but why he goes in the tub and not under the bed, etc. is very strange. He has never been afraid of thunder or tools or other loud noises so this does not really sound like the cause. Maybe he just felt he needed a bath - wonder if he will learn to turn on the tap!!!!!

A Dog in a Tub

When we got home from work today at 5:00, our little dog, Sparky was in the bathtub. Now he has never tried to jump in there before and we have a new deep tub too so it would be difficult for him to jump in. We are totally baffled as to how or why he was in the tub. The mat was not even disturbed on the side. Needless to say he was frantic to get out. We almost wondered if someone had come in and put him in there but the doors were locked and we did not find anything missing. Only God knows what went on in this house this afternoon!

Now on another note, Sparky has learned to climb a step stool in the kitchen - two steps too so perhaps he is practising other climbing apparatus when we are not home. Maybe he wants to run away and join the circus.

It will be interesting to see if he lands back in the tub again - at least he could come to no harm in there and well, if he had to go, he could just go and we could rinse it out later!!!! He certainly keeps us entertained.

Sparky's Surgery

Sparky was at the groomers yesterday and underneath all his hair on his face she found a
growth. It was raw and red and oozing so off we went back to Prince Albert today to the
vet and he had a fancy long name for it and said it should be removed. We are back home now and he has 6 stitches that have to be removed in about 10 days plus he has antibotics to take. He is still not himself but so far the scratching has been minimal. If he does start to scratch a lot, he will have to wear a cone. Poor baby!

Sparky the Helper

Our puppy Sparky is very curious and even more so if there are tools involved. He loves, drills, air hoses, compressors and the noise does not seem to bother him. Wherever Mel is, you can find Sparky! Here they are drilling holes for the drawer slides in the new kitchen. Think it must be rest time though!

Pets and Snow

Our pet is a small shitzu, named Sparky. He is 3 years old and spoiled rotten. This dog can not tolerate rain in any amounts, however now that we have the first snowfall, he loves it! The snow can even be a wet sleet and he still wants to be outside. As you can see from the picture, he gets covered in snow to the point where you can hardly see his face. He just makes us laugh!
