New Countertop
I can't say enough about the new countertop in the kitchen. Wow, it shows no dust, no crumbs, no water marks. It is fabulous and I am so glad that we decided to go with it. Can't wait for all of the counter top to be put in. A bribe is in place - I get all the counter top put in and someone may get homemade fruit cake baked, one of his favourites for Christmas!!!!

What is the countertop made out of?

The countertop is by Formica and is called Solid Surfacing. It is a man made product, very heavy and looks like granite. It is pricey but not as pricey as granite. It can be cut with a saw, sanded and polished. Mel still has to put a few pieces in place and you will not see the seam when done. He also has to put a edge on the front, probably about 1" down. We have enough to do our bathrooms also.
