More Wedding

So Hubby did not want to attend; he had to be convinced. I think he had a good time once we got there! He looks especially good with the flowers below. I had received a beautiful shawl from a girlfriend and it was perfect for my sleeveless dress - it is still cold here and snowy outside so I was being rather brave wearing a sleeveless dress. We pray that Aunt Louise and our new Uncle Bill will have a wonderful marriage together and that God will Bless this union.

Bueckert Wedding

We attended my Aunt's wedding yesterday. Her grandchildren were part of the wedding party and her twin brother and his wife were the attendants.

Wedding Card

This is the wedding card I made for the wedding we attended yesterday. I can't remember where I got the heart shape fasteners but the worked great here. I printed a verse off the computer for the inside.

Cricut Machine

I got spoiled yesterday when Hubby felt generous and bought me a new Cricut Machine. This is an awesome cutting tool for paper and vinyl, especially fun for card making and scrapbooking. There are many cartridges or programs you can purchase for it. You are able to increase the size of the shapes and letters, change the style and so on. Really, it is a mini computer. Mine will hold 12 x12 or 12x24 sheets of paper so large items can also be cut. I see cartridges are much cheaper on ebay rather than buying them here locally. Only one cartridge came with the computer. Now I just have to find the time to actually scrapbook and do some more cardmaking. Anybody want to come play with me??Posted by Picasa

More Craft Room

The smaller units I got at Michaels with gift certificates and their 40% off coupons so they were a good deal also.

Craft / Exercise / Bedroom

This room is now done except for the trim work around windows and baseboards - those will be in white. I have moved in my crafts for scrapbooking and cardmaking. I love the cupboards we salvaged from our local drugstore - they were renovating and throwing these in the garbage. How terrible! We got these plus about ten more free. I may eventually paint them white although they look pretty good in the light grey color. All of the drawers have full extension slides too and they are heavy duty so can take a big load. I can't wait to actually do some crafts in there.

Kitchen

I have finished making all my doors and some have been installed. I love the look of the ribbed glass. Now just have to find some knobs and handles in a matt black. Hubby still has to finish building some upper boxes and install all the drawer fronts. It took a whole day and then some to make all of the drawers for the kitchen, back entry and bathrooms - 30 in total. Think I should have enough storage!

Scrapbooking

I attended a scrapbooking retreat recently and had fun catching up with some scrapbooking pages, and also making some more cards. One of my projects was making the Valentine box. I plan to make a few more of these to hand out on Sunday. I tried some new techniques in scrapbooking also using cardboard cut-outs as in the word "Fall". I traced them onto the paper, cut out the paper and glued to the letters. Then I sponged the edges with brown ink. I love the effect. Also took a piece of 12x12 paper and cut leaves out of it since I could not purchase leaves by themselves. A bit tedious but the outcome looked good. Still have to finish the journalling as I usually journal on the computer. Can't wait to get my craft room up and running. Hubby is already worried he will never see me again!

Snow Again

Now the snow keeps coming but it is so beautiful that I don't even mind. Hubby finally had to do some yard clearing with the bobcat and our tractor both at home and at the shop. Since this is at a resort, the snowmobile crowd will be happy and there will be lots of powder to try out this week-end. Maybe the Olympics should be moved here or we could ship the snow to Vancouver!
